The Notre Dame de Bayeux is one of the masterpieces of Norman Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Located at the presumed site of the forum of the Gallo-Roman city of Augustodurum and replacing a building of Merovingian period , the current cathedral was consecrated July 14, 1077 and is part of a remarkably preserved Episcopal Ensemble


The Bayeux Tapestry , also known under the name Tapestry of Queen Matilda , and formerly  »  That’s Conquest   » (for « web of Conquest ») is an embroidery(formerly « tapestry needle points ») of XI th  century included since 2007 in the register Memory of the world by UNESCO


The beaches of the Normandy landings are five beachesused in the landings and the Battle of Normandy during World War II . Because of their historical and symbolic significance, a UNESCO classification project was started


The American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer (in English :  « Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial » ) is a military cemetery American , located just above the so-called beach of Omaha Beach , in the common French of Colleville-sur- Mer ( Calvados ), on one of the sites Allied landings of June 6, 1944 .
